Valencia CF can’t get enough of winning
Valencia CF visited Club Deportivo Alavés at Mendizorrotza on Matchday 10 in LaLiga coming off the back of the Copa del Rey win at La Romareda by 0-2 in midweek. CD Alavés were coming into after picking up the Copa del Rey win against Getafe.

The first CD Alavés chance came through a Munir free kick from outside the area which forced Neto into a double save over the 15-minute mark in the game.
Valencia CF grew into the game knocking the ball about trying to open up the CD Alavés backline and persistence paid dividends with 36 minutes on the clock, in-form Zaza struck a 14-yarder into the top corner to give Valencia CF the lead. This was Zaza’s sixth goal from eight LaLiga fixtures.
Carlos Soler enjoyed the last chance kick of the half on the stroke of half-time with a long-range shot from outside the area that went over the bar.
Valencia CF came out looking for the second goal and Rodrigo had the first effort of the second half, but only four minutes later, another former Valencia CF player Alexis Ruano, headed Alavés back on level terms against the run of play following a corner kick.
A former Valencia CF striker tested Neto with a left-footer but the Italian was equal to it with a splendid save.
Rodrigo stepped up from 12 yards following Ely’s handball inside the box and converted the resulting spot-kick hitting the ball cleanly right down the middle to put Valencia CF back in front over the 1-hour mark in the game.
Both managers shuffled their packs trying to get something more out of the game.
Deportivo Alavés tried to get back in the game deep into stoppage time but too little too late for them to get back in the game.
