Rodrigo Moreno, Valencia CF player until 2022
Valencia CF and Rodrigo Moreno put pen to paper to his contract extension until the 30th of June 2022, with a buyout clause set at 120 million euros. The Spanish international with the Spanish senior side makes his fourth season at Valencia CF.
Rodrigo Moreno has spoken to VCFplay after signing a contract renewal with the club until 2022, detailing the pride he feels after confirming that he will continue as part of the Valencia family for years to come.
What does it mean to extend your contract with the club?
“For me it is an honour, and I feel privileged to be able to continue representing the club. We are all part of a brilliant run at the moment, we are enjoying it a lot, as much as players as the fans are. I am very happy to be able to continue, to keep doing the right things and keep everything going smoothly.”
Are you in your best form yet?
“The best is always to come, one has to have ambitions to keep improving and growing. I still have plenty of footballing years ahead of me, and what I want most is to keep doing things well, to help the club and to ensure we’re all happy.”
The fans are dreaming of a title..
“The club deserves one, and needs one. It has been many years now without a trophy, we know that it is very difficult to win one, but the most important thing is to hold onto the excitement we are talking so much about and keep enjoying all of our games at Mestalla.”
Who do you remember in times like these?
“I have to thank all of the people that have always supported me, and the fans. As we know, recent years have been tough and the fans have always been there when we needed them. It makes me really happy to be part of these exciting times, it has been up until now a historic start for the club, the fans are enjoying themselves again and are happy. They are excited to go to Mestalla and to keep being part of a fantastic atmosphere every weekend.”
And now a game against FC Barcelona, how will you approach it?
“It is an important game, it is special because they are the league leaders. We are on a very good run and so are they, but we have the chance to go out there, front up to them, and go all out.”
